Weekend Photos

I finally got the photos from last weekend. Here are a couple of good ones.

So, I'm heading up again this afternoon. Leslie wasn't able to get a new belt for the snowblower so we'll be doing some shovelling to get the trailer unburied. She needs the trailer because...

I SOLD THE GREEN MACHINE!
So excited that it's taken care of! I sold it a coworker of Leslie's. Pretty sure he's the prick who blamed me when a board was ruined the summer I worked there. It wasn't my fault - it was ruined LONG before the board reached me for punching - but he wouldn't even listen. Royal @*#$&. BUT, his kids will be excited and they should get something good for having to put up with having him as a father. Anyway, Leslie is bringing it down to him on Monday and getting the cash for me! So glad to have it taken care of AND he wants it as is. So, I knocked $200 off the price and now I don't even have to worry about reparing it! Woo hoo!
Mom is still here - helping clean up some. Dinner was amazing last night. She also gave me some presents - Patriots tablecloth and plates for tailgating and a barn jacket (for the barn!).
I started work early this morning, so I'm going to do Y!F at 3:00, then try to get on the road by 5:00. Should be a low-key weekend. I plan on enjoying the snow!
OK, lunch break is over. Back to work - I plan on doing another weigh-in next week.

TGIAF!

I can't wait to go up to camp this weekend! I think both my aunts are going - Leslie and Vicki. Should be fun. Unfortunately my Cabela's order isn't scheduled to arrive until next Tuesday... it's in Illinois now. I ordered some warm stuff that I want to try when riding.

Did 30 min. of Y!F yesterday. Didn't have any more time than that since we had planned to meet Alena and her new beau out for dinner at American Flatbread (YUMMY!). The aerobics really kicks my ass... so much jumping. I'm taking today off - well deserved rest - and planning on doing an hour tomorrow before heading to camp. I've stopped weighing myself because it keeps going UP!!!! I'll try again next week.

My Mom is taking Todd, Chad, Lana and me to The Alchemist tonight. I've decided I pretty much love any of the restaurants that are part of the Vermont Fresh Network (EXCEPT LUENIGS!!!!!). She's also picking me up for lunch and we're going to go shopping for snowpants. Peter Glenn closed in Essex and none of the snowmobile shops have non-bib pants (I hate bibs). So, I'm going to check out Dick's.

So Tired!

I'm SO tired! What a (sleepless) weekend! Will post photos with more details later when I pull them off my camera.

Good news: Did 60 more minutes of aerobics with Y!F last night. As expected, she kicked my butt. I didn't tell her it was easy this time!

Bad news: I weigh more than I did before the weekend (now 143.6), despite all the shovelling and riding on CRAPPY trails that I did.

So, I did exercise yesterday and that's good - hope to continue the trend with 30 min. on the bike tonight. Actually, I may just get my exercise by shovelling the banks of our driveway back. My mom is coming up either tomorrow or Thursday (she's on school vaca), so we really should get the driveway under control. My eating has been under control too. There's still a remote chance I might put on my bathing suit in FL in a month.

Finally: Y!F

So, I finally did Yourself!Fitness today! It was good - told her I wanted her to increase the intensity next time, so I'm fully prepared to get my ass kicked. I was breathing pretty hard though. Used the step I just got from Walmart, but have decided I need more space downstairs. Time to down-size. We had a huge snow storm the past couple of days. Over 2 ft snowfall and 3 ft drifts around the house. So, I've been shovelling for exercise until now.

Last weekend, Leslie and I did 250 miles on the snowmobiles. I'm picking Kim up at the airport tonight (9:30 delayed to 10:30) and taking tomorrow off. AND... I BOUGHT A "NEW" SNOWMOBILE THIS WEEK!!!! See the photo! I'm so excited. It's got quite a few miles - 6000, because the previous owners travelled in Canada a lot. It used to be their late son's machine. I checked the obits online and he died in March 2004 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound... I didn't know that at the time I bought it, otherwise I would have told them about Jason. Their son was 28 when he died - graduated from UVM in 1997 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I surely saw him around campus. So sad. Makes me think of Jason. But, I'm giving the machine a good home. It's a 1-up and 600cc which is 100 more than the '94 Indy Trail Deluxe (2-up) that I have (and currently needs to go to the shop!). So, I'll be selling the '94 after I get it fixed.

Really, the only bummer is that I lost the Orvis hat that Tracie and family gave me for Christmas... and I LOVED it. It must have fallen out of the truck in Barre (where we picked up the machine) and with the huge snowstorm we just had, got plowed into a snow bank :-( Totally bummed.

OK, well gotta go get showered and finish packing... OH! On Tuesday I was down to 143.4. Forgot to weigh myself the rest of the week, but will be sure to do it next week - hoping for less than 143!

Still bad

2100 calories yesterday! And no exercise. I jumped on the scale last night just for fun. I only count morning weigh-ins, so it wasn't official, but it wasn't good!!! Oh well. I'm feeling fat in my jeans today, so I WILL ride the bike before leaving for camp tonight!!!! No weigh-in until Monday a.m. now... hopefully will be enough motivation to be good at camp this weekend.

Todd's going with me this weekend, and Leslie. Not sure if anyone else will be up there or not. Next weekend is girls' weekend! I think I'm going to look for new snow pants this weekend - my Mom is getting me some for my birthday.

So, hopefully I'll have good news on Monday - maybe even drop a pound!

Bad, bad, bad

Ooohh - so bad this week. My calorie intake actually hasn't been bad... until yesterday. We went to the Kitchen Table with John and Phyl. So yummy! But, my calories and fat were WAY over (2400 cal.). It was my own fault - could have done a lot better, but oh well. I haven't improved much today - eating cookies for breakfast and having pastries at a meeting, but I can still meet my goals for today so we won't call it a failure yet. Heading to lunch after I post this.

The biggest failure is how I haven't exercised since Monday :-( Bad, bad, bad. Y!F isn't here yet. I've been tired, I've been busy. Same old excuses. Tonight we're babysitting Macy until 8:30... perhaps there's a remote possiblity I could ride the bike after that?

I'm especially tired today after getting called at 2 a.m. by work, and then for fuming for an hour or so afterwards... but that's not something we need to get into here.

Here's hoping I have something good to post tomorrow. We head up to camp tomorrow - NEK is looking prime for riding: Island Pond Weather.

New DDR mat?

I found my DDR mat creased when I went down stairs to set it up. :-( It still works - most of the time. The "up" arrow sometimes doesn't work (usually when I'm about to pass a song, of course) and it got pretty frustrating. I put a ream of paper on it, with a stack of magazines on top of that - maybe it will flatten out enough. If not, Todd said he'd buy me a new mat instead of the makeup brush he still owes me from Christmas.

I'm not convinced that I got the best workout with DDR, but I feel pretty good about it anyway. At least I got moving a bit. I feel a lot more motivated after starting DDR - I find myself wishing I was better at it so I could do more challenging songs for a better workout. I tried using the workout mode, but I find it a little unsatisfying for some reason. My plan for tonight: do one course of workout mode, then go back to that damn song I couldn't pass last night, and keep trying until I'm sick of it. Then upstairs for 30 min. on the bike (while watching TV, of course) and hopefully some upper body toning with hand weights.

What I really want to do is break down and buy a nice treadmill like Matt's. There are so many problems with that idea though: there's not enough room for one in our house, it's not in the budget (especially after the 50" Plasma)... but I want one. New plan! I'm going to give Y!F a try and also continue with some DDR and staionary bike through the rest of winter. Maybe I'll even get out on some snowshoes at some point. Then if I really want a treadmill, I'll have to prove it to myself (and Todd!) by jogging outside through the summer. If I can manage to do that, then I'll revisit the treadmill idea in September.

Turns out I was right on about how much I weigh: 147 (well, 146.8 this morning). I re-did my weight goal on Spark People this morning and as it turns out, the most aggressive plan they'll allow (2 lbs/week) puts me at 135 on the exact day we leave for Sanibel! Coincidence?!?! Probably :-) but it sure would be nice, especially if Todd's mom is able to bring the bridesmaid's dress down for me to try! The new plan also puts me at 143 for President's Day weekend when Kim will be up for snowmobiling - I'll be happy with anything under 145.

Mandy just emailed about me not making it to her bachelorette party - she's completely understanding, and I'm completely relieved! I'm not a very good bridesmaid, but I'm doing the best I can. I'm just lucky she's the complete opposite of Bridezilla!

Gaming exercise

Gotta shed a couple of inches... for many reasons including

1. More comfortable while snowmobiling
2. Won't mind packing swim suits and shorts for Sanibel trip 3/21
3. Fit into bridesmaid dress for Matt and Mandy's wedding

But too cheap and unmotivated to join a new gym (Junction Fitness closed :-( ). So, found this article today on gaming exercise, and went online and purchased Yourself! Fitness. I already have DDR, so I'll stick to that until Y!F arrives. I have no idea how much I weigh right now, but I do know I don't want to be seen in my long johns at camp, and that's a problem! Anyway, I'm adding a weight ticker - guesstimating 147 for now.

So, tonight, I have to clean up the basement a bit and set up my DDR mat again. Before Y!F arrives, I need to go out to the garage, find the unopened yoga mat I have, ask Todd to blow up my fitness ball, find the LTT (and blow the dust off), and the hand weights - must find the hand weights!

I also plan to start tracking nutrition again at Spark People. That's what jump started my everything the last time I was in shape.
